Established in 2012, Mekhann was founded to breathe new life into a textile tradition spanning two millennia.

Where artisanal craftsmanship meets refined design, we create the finest hand-embroidered, naturally dyed silk textiles for luxury interiors. Online or in London, each piece can be explored as part of an ongoing collection. From the initial sketch to the final product, every stage is guided by intricate precision and artistry. Engaging with the historical depth and cultural significance of embroidery and plant-based dye techniques, our work honours and reinterprets these lasting traditions.

Inspired by long-held global practices, we unite classic design sensibilities with a measured visual language. Each piece is crafted with purpose, made to belong in elegant spaces, considered interiors and with those who live thoughtfully among the things they choose.

Our Mission

We believe textiles shape atmosphere by holding both feeling and form, rather than serving only as decoration. They invite emotion and hold the stillness of something brought to life with intention.

What we make is guided by heritage, influencing how it is created, seen and shared. In close collaboration with master artisans in Anatolia and Central Asia, each creation preserves a living bond with tradition while resting naturally in the classic or contemporary home.

Our values are defined by respect; for the legacy we represent, the materials we use, the communities we engage. Mekhann textiles are made to live with you and far outlast passing trends.

Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship is not a stage to complete. It is the beginning of everything. Each pencil line, each thread guided by hand, follows a rhythm shaped by time and focus. A piece becomes what it is through the way it’s made, not only in how it looks, but in its weight, balance and settled clarity. From start to finish, the making is guided by knowledge, patience and deep respect for cultural lineage.

Sustainability

True luxury is not revealed through what is new. It is found in what lasts. It lives in pieces formed with care and deepened through time. Sustainability is not applied at the end, but considered from the start. Every fibre and colour is chosen with thought for its origin and impact. Each piece traces the process within of its making to endure and live beyond season.

The Mekhann Experience

How one experiences Mekhann follows the same thinking that frames what we create. Every part of the collection, from material to service, is approached with the same level of consideration. Whether explored online or in person, coherence is maintained across arrangement and atmosphere. Rooms are composed with restraint. Each setting is built to support stillness, awareness and thoughtful pace.

Mekhann Chelsea

Mekhann Chelsea is located on Fulham Road in South Kensington. Anchored by institutions, studios and private galleries, the surrounding area carries a continuity of design culture. Arrangement here is less about display, more about how elements relate without pressure.

Mekhann Mayfair

Mekhann Mayfair is located at No.12 within the Royal Arcade. In the late nineteenth century, this same unit was home to Queen Victoria’s shirtmaker, a detail that later gave the arcade its name. The space now draws those with an appreciation for textile, proportion and the ritual of handwork.

The Founder's Perspective

Mekhann began through steady refinement rather than fixed plans. Over time, a certain logic emerged in how things were arranged, what was held back, and what was allowed to stay. Into this early structure, The Founder’s Perspective offers a closer view. A way of thinking remains within it, guiding the work as it takes form.
