About Mekhann

Founded in 2012 by Firat Firat, Mekhann is a London design house creating hand-embroidered silk pieces for interiors.

Across framed works, embroidered textiles and cushions. Mekhann brings drawing into naturally dyed silk through chain stitch embroidery, with close control over colour and finish.

Historical reference informs the work, then returns through scale and proportion in ways that feel current.

The Collection

Mekhann makes pieces that bring definition into a room.

A cushion can gather and steady a seating area. A framed artwork can give focus and visual authority to a wall. Throws and runners carry colour across larger surfaces, from beds and tables to consoles.

Some pieces appear once; others return in very small numbers. We release carefully, because each work has to earn its place.

How It Is Made

Every piece begins with a drawing.

From there, naturally dyed silk and chain stitch embroidery bring the work into form through a process we control from line to finish. Colour is developed for depth and variation. The embroidery must sit at the right tension for the surface to remain clear and exact.

Light moves differently across the silk. Colour settles with greater complexity. From a distance the work reads clearly; up close, the grain becomes visible.

Design Language

Each design begins with a visual source. It may come from a botanical form, a symbolic motif, an animal figure, an architectural fragment, a border or a memory of colour.

We study historical reference, then rework it through scale, colour and composition until the final piece stands on its own.
