The Work
A one-of-one framed textile artwork built as a compact dome field. The square format is calm and contained, designed to hold presence through rhythm and colour control rather than scale. The light oak frame brings warmth and a clear architectural edge.
The surface is organised as stacked rows of small dome units, offset so the field reads as a continuous canopy. Each scalloped form is held within precise arcs, with a small dark centre acting as an anchor. The repeat is dense but measured, allowing the eye to move evenly across the surface. The oak frame works as a perimeter rule, containing the field and giving the piece a defined edge
Colour Logic
Colour is handled structurally. Bands of terracotta, navy, warm gold, stone and soft neutrals move across the field, stepping gradually as you travel from top to bottom. Pale arcs separate one row from the next and prevent the palette from collapsing into a single mass. The small dark centres punctuate the canopy at a consistent rhythm. From a distance the work reads as a graded dome surface; up close it resolves into stitch density, direction and edge work.

Authenticity and Colour
Hand embroidery carries natural variation in tension and surface texture. Warm tones read deepest in lower light, while pale arcs lift most clearly in daylight. Screen settings vary, so colour may differ slightly in person.
